When is a 2D Echo done & what does it tell your doctor?
2D echo is a basic non invasive test done to check the heart function.It is often used in conjunction with a Stress test.Echocardiogram enables doctor to see a graphic outline of the heart movements and the pumping action of the heart. A non-invasive technique using sound waves, echocardiography offers a very precise way to detect the heart's movement and function.

How the 2D Echo Test is conducted?
Patient is made to lie down, ieral position. A gel is applied to the chest, and then a transducer(probe)is placed on the left chest over the heart. Heart images can be seen on monitor in real time and detailed assessment can be done.
